Is Translation Theory Important? Yes it is. TT is important for the translation expert who may need to explain translation phenomena in technical terms. Talented translators, however, can do without TT, less talented translators may benefit from approaches and theories and can develop their skills and methods. But what is TT? It is translation practice turned into speculative thought.
